The Northern Wasco County PUD project expands and renovates a ten year old existing facility. The magnificent site overlooking the Columbia River in The Dalles, Oregon had little room for expansion. Job requirements included increasing office space for the administrative, IT, and hydro departments; creating a new community/board room; providing a new truck and vehicle garage; and updating the finishes throughout.

Enlarging the existing building in three separate areas allowed phased construction with minimal disruption to employees. Utilizing exterior materials that match the original made for a seamless expansion. Multiple sustainable features - natural ventilation, photo voltaics, solar hot water, reclaimed wood for paneling, ceiling, and trim, and recycled finishes - minimize the environmental impact and help meet the owner’s sustainable goals.
